The Beach
Along our shoreline, you’ll notice some low-profile concrete blocks subtly nestled in the sand (see beach photos in listing). These were installed by previous owners as part of shoreline protection efforts to help prevent erosion and maintain the beach’s natural beauty. Over time, they’ve settled into the sand and are safe to walk on, especially as most are well-buried. Guests often find they provide a bit of extra stability in softer sand areas. Just a heads-up for little feet or beach walkers—feel free to wear sandals or beach shoes if you’re exploring the shoreline closely!
** 🌿 Lake Erie & Seasonal Algae**
Lake Erie’s water clarity and shoreline is up to Mother Nature! Algae can come and go depending on the season and rainfall—most commonly in late summer. It’s a natural part of the ecosystem and usually doesn’t affect swimming. If needed, we’re happy to suggest other great local swim spots.
